Baroness Bryony Worthington, Patron

Raised to the peerage in 2011, Baroness Bryony Worthington is Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change in the Lords; a prolific campaigner for action to tackle climate change.  She worked for Friends of the Earth for many years, where she set up its prominent ‘Big Ask’ campaign and was the author of the first report to introduce and champion the concept of Carbon Budgeting.

She went on to work at DEFRA as a key member of the team that drafted the Climate Change Bill and helped to set up the Government’s first public awareness campaign on the subject of climate change.

An expert in emissions trading and low carbon energy policy, Bryony acted as an advisor to Scottish and Southern Energy before leaving to set up Sandbag, a not-for-profit organisation focused on raising awareness about emissions trading and lobbying to improve its effectiveness.

She joined The Weinberg Foundation in mid 2011 and established the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Thorium Energy in February 2012.
